About Me

I'm a 33-year old TEFLer currently living in Shenzhen, China (right next to Hong Kong). I taught Latin in the U.S. and then took off to teach English in South Korea, Russia, and now, of course, China. If I had a bigger place here in China, I'd happily offer room for travelers. Maybe in the next job. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To stay in touch with other travelers and maybe ask/offer advice (and one day a couch!).

Interests

I like travel (who doesn't, though, I mean, really?), hiking, reading, old school letter-writing, and music.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band of all time is Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Favorite movie? It's a tie between "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "The Royal Tenenbaums."

Books... books... that's a tough one. For authors, I love Vonnegut, Twain, King, Dickens, Gaiman, and quite a few others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've seen thus far is Angkor Wat. Everyone raves about Thailand, but, for me, the people, sights, sounds, smells, everything! of Cambodia was the best.

In 2013, I took the Trans-Siberian Railroad from Vladivostok to Moscow. That was pretty amazing.

Countries I’ve Visited
