À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Living the dream - teaching French in Milwaukee :)

ABOUT ME

I'm up for anything ! I am outgoing, talkative, friendly, kind, fun to be around, interesting, spontaneous but also an over-organized (sometimes obsessive) planner, and a GREAT story teller (if you like long-winded and semi-pointless stories).

PHILOSOPHY

Le monde est un livre, et ceux qui ne voyagent pas n'en lisent qu'une page.
-Saint Augustin

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've traveled and stayed with many people in Europe, and am looking to continue this summer. I've met some GREAT friends through couchsurfing - two of which I visited again in July of 2016. I love the friendship that comes from the experience of staying with people.

I am hoping to FINALLY be able to repay all the kindness that people all over Europe have shown me and open my home to couch surfers :) My fiancé and I live in a three-bedroom (2 bedroom, 1 office) house in Greendale, Wisconsin. While we are no longer in Milwaukee, we frequently visit our old haunting grounds in Bayview and Downtown. We are also within walking distance to the Greendale Village, which is 100% adorable and has all the quaint little shops, stores, restaurants and cafés you could need! You will have your own room here, plus two couches if you want as well :) If we can't host you, we are always up for meeting up, grabbing a coffee, having a drink, watching a football game, etc! We love making new friends :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couch-surfing in fall of 2012 and was the luckiest person ever because all of my hosts were AMAZING. My best friend and I did a two week trip through Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Munich, had the time of our life, and met some incredibly interesting people, who I'm hoping to see again someday. Since that first trip, I've couchsurfed in Hungary, France, Sweden, and Denmark, to name a few more places. I'm planning on continuing to travel via couch surfing to see more of the world and meet more wonderful people - I've found that it is so much more enjoyable to visit a new place when you meet the people who call it home. There are so many amazing things that as a tourist, you would never see or experience without couchsurfing. Plus - then you have the opportunity to make connections and get to know other people from a different background than your own! I've made some amazing friends who have visited my family and I back in Wisconsin and have also met family members of former couch surfing hosts turned friends! It's been an amazing experience over the past several years, and I am looking forward to continuing to meet people and learn new things!

Centres d'intérêt

I love to travel and see new things / meet new people. I really love American Football and am a HUGE FAN of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. I like to be active but at the same time, I also enjoy reading a good book or spending a few hours at a café people watching. I enjoy speaking French and love being a French teacher.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love to read! I prefer to read series (Harry Potter, Girl With a Dragon Tattoo, A Song of Ice and Fire) because one book is never long enough! I love when stories have plot twists and unexpected story lines.
I'm not the biggest movie fan, but I'm learning to love them. It's not so much the movies that I don't like, but not knowing how it's going to end.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

One of the most amazing things I've ever done was sky dive. At the time, it was terrifying and heart-stopping, but as soon as I was out of the plane and free falling, I fell in love! I hope to be able to do it again someday.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I am not an expert at Milwaukee life yet, but we can get lost together and experience new restaurants, bars, museums, coffee shops, parks, beaches... you name it! I love to wander around and find new places, and I can share my love of getting lost with you :)

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I love to cook, and I would love to make you any kind of "American" meal your heart desires. I realize that most "American" meals are borrowed from other cultures - that said, I make a pretty killer homemade pizza and quiche !
