About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See as much of the world and try to preserve its natural beauty

ABOUT ME

I studied cultural anthropology and linguistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz and graduated in 2014. Working outside makes me very happy! My job is seasonal with the National Park Service in Kings Canyon National Park in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. Next trip planned is to New Zealand with a dear friend of mine! I like to laugh, cook new and delicious things, backpack when I get the chance (which feels like all the time when I’m working), I love the beach, swimming in lakes, and the smell of the forest after a rain, and I like cool foggy weather even though my hair doesn’t. I travel wherever and whenever I can and it’s a great pleasure to meet others from all over the world who share the same passion.

PHILOSOPHY

Luxury is living within your means.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had couch surfed in Chile, Argentina, Iceland and Portugal and it has left me with remarkable experiences and wonderful memories. I've had the privilege to host in San Francisco and it would be a great pleasure to pay it forward with future travelers once I have a home of my own :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music taste varies depending on what we’re in the mood for. Something funky and groovy is always fun. As far as books... my favorites are Braiding Sweetgrass, The Overstory, The Language Instinct, Wisdom Sits in Places, Ishmael, Don’t Sleep There Are Snakes and The Boy the Mole the Fox and The Horse. As far as movies go, I love em. I’ve seen a lot. Old horror like Night of the Hunter, Hitchcock movies, Tarantino movies-favorite is Deathproof, anything done by Mel Brooks, Big Trouble in Little China, Blade Runner, Night of the Comet, Stand By Me, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Sound of Noise, La Belle Verte, and most recently, La Muerte de un Comediante.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share with you the secrets of some of my family recipes which ranges from empanadas and gnocchi to middle eastern cuisine. I can also teach you how to play a card game called Truco. Teach me to play some of your favorite games or to cook something delicious? The best thing a host can share is to show me a glimpse of life as a local in the places I visit.
