About Me

I'm a cheerful and friendly Canadian girl, just moved back from Norway where I took my Master's degree. I work for a politician, which is intense and rewarding and exhausting and amazing. I like to travel, chat, thrift shop, eat good food and drink good beer/wine/etc, hike, sing karaoke, cook, dance... whatever seems right at the time.

Unless I mention otherwise, I will probably have my partner-in-crime with me: Trond the Norwegian rocket scientist / lumberjack. He is a delightful human being, easy to be around. He likes to laugh/make others laugh, invent/deconstruct/rebuild things, play accordion (although if we're travelling he can't often bring it along), make punny jokes, and drink beer/moonshine/etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is the way travelling ought to be: not some sterile, scripted experience, but a real, raw, HUMAN experience. And Couchsurfing is all sorts of human: the good, the bad, the unexpected. An adventure.

To me it's like a visit with a friend you never knew you had. What's not to love?

Music, Movies, and Books

Something I've never heard / seen / read. Introduce me to something that comes from where you do!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming in the ocean at night with phosphorescent algae in beautiful British Columbia.

Surviving my 25th birthday in Barcelona. What a city.

I spent a summer living on a nudist resort several years back. Definitely different.

This one time, I lived in a van and drove across Eastern Canada for almost 2 months.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak a few languages and I'm a decent cook... other than that I have no particular skills, sorry. I am, however, enthusiastic about learning/trying new things! Teach me:)
