About Me

Hello! My name's Leah. I'm nine generations Texan and have lived there most of my life. I've spent the last three years moving around four different regions of Spain. I've traveled pretty extensively in the United States, Europe, and Asia. People often describe me as motivated and free spirited. I'm a dancer and love to go out for salsa, bachata, swing, blues, or any sort of themed night like 80's or Motown. I love to drink wine and do all sorts of cultural things. I'm very clean and independent. I'm quite used to the traveler routine and have no problem hanging out or giving ya' space during our time together. I look forward to making new friends. Cheers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing so that I'm able to experience the city through the eyes of a local and meet people who are like-minded. I am happy to share a meal, grab a drink, or do something a bit more personal if we're really hitting it off. I am a bit of a sleepy person in the mornings but I'm happy to get up and out if you need! I'm pretty social and like to be out and about a lot of the time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Feeling grateful and giving back. I was able to host in beautiful Granada, Spain.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in Texas, New Mexico, California, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Interests

I'm all about creature comforts, good music and live shows, entertaining company, traveling, photography, film, cooking, racket sports, sand volleyball, and outdoor chillin'

I'm very comfortable around people and love to go out to social events around the city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am interested in many different types of movies, actors, directors, and screenwriters. I could talk for days! I like soul music, bossa nova, ambient electronic, and generally anything that makes you want to get up and dance. I love to dance.

My favorite movie is The Life Aquatic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode a motor bike down the French Riviera and through the Sierra Nevada mountains in Spain. I was detained at the border between Spain and Africa for snapping photos. I spent an afternoon with a large family of gypsies in Romania who did not speak a word of English. I slept under the stars on a ferry boat from Italy to Croatia in the Mediterranean Sea. I watched the most eerie sunrise on a train arriving in Transylvania. I received a back alley way massage in Mexico. I saw spaceships on the Fourth of July. I kayaked with dolphins on the Florida coast and with alligators in Louisiana. In Cambodia, I drank rice wine made from live centipedes. I was featured on a Vietnamese television program.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook. I am a highly practiced interior decorator. I dabble in yoga and would love to share my knowledge with you. I know a lot about movies and music and would love to exchange favorites. I've traveled quite a bit and can tell you about all sorts of wonderful places. I love to play most sports.

I want as much dance instruction as possible. I want to learn how to cook Indian food, I love it. I want to learn how to bake (without box instructions). I want to learn how to sew. I want to learn how to camp in the backwoods. I want to learn how to scuba dive. I want to learn more about plants and herbs and their medicinal properties. I want to know what it takes to eat a plain clean diet. I want to know travel budget secrets. I am very curious and I would love to hear about whatever you can teach me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a great cook and could teach you how to make some of my best dishes.

I like wild stories so if you have any of those please share.
