Music, Movies, and Books
I like to listen to 80s music, old-school hip-hop and rock.
I read mostly Sci-Fi, but also allot of different stuff.
Kind of a Nerd, huge Fan of Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings etc. (But don’t worry, I’m very much able to shut up about it)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Packed some stuff into my old schoolbag, booked a few flights and then spend two months city hopping around the world all by myself
Teach, Learn, Share
I moved to Munich in the summer of 2019, so I’m in no way native to the Bavarian way of life. I’m still learning new things about this City everyday, but eager to share some cool spots and highlights I found on my way
For anyone visiting, here’s Leanders super special (cheap) guide to Munich (LSSCGtM):
- On sundays: „Museums Sonntag“, 1€ admission to museum Brandhorst, the old and modern pinakothek for the entire day
- German Museum (regular entrance fee for students: 4.5€): you can spend an eternity there
- sunset at the Hackerbrücke with a beer or Spezi bought at a store
- view of the Munich skyline from the hill at Luitpoldpark or Olympiaberg
- Watching Eisbach surfers and going swimming in the Eisbach (decent swimming skills and maybe some locals for tips advisable)
- spending time in one of munichs many parks. My favourites: English garden and olympiapark
- the munich classics: walking from the „stachus“ to the Marienplatz and then on to the viktualienmarkt and odeonsplatz
- spend some time at the Isar doing a Picknick (best central spot is near the Reichenbach bridge on the east side)
- watch the octoberfest being build up at Theresienwiese (not to be mistaken with Teresienstraße ;)
And the best part: you can go everywhere by bike! The MVG city bikes only cost 9 cents per minute and are often cheaper than public transport
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m a half decent cook, but one specialty of mine is german „Kaiserschmarnn“. Besides that I also make great pizza and pasta, which I would be eager to make for any hungry host ;))
