Overview
About Me
Hello, Kind Strangers! My name is Leanne, I'm 25, and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I'm a climber, a teacher/educator in various avenues (often working with neurodivergent students), a theatre-lover, an art-appreciator, and a bit of a goofball! I'm a queer lady and always love connecting with other people in the LGBTQ+ community. I also love finding new climbing/outdoor/adventure buddies, but really any kind of new friend is great! I currently live in the DC/Maryland area, but I am hoping to move to the West Coast soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing to meet new people who can tell me about their city/experiences and because I'm trying to travel more but don't have the financial means to always get hotels, hostels, or Airbnbs. I usually go camping while traveling, but when I'm exploring a city a couch/bed would be ideal.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I listen to a lot of different genres and love listening to new music that I've never heard before. I don't dislike much. Lately I've been really into chill-indie-pop kind of jams. I really like jazz, especially live. I'm also a huge musical theatre nerd and love belting showtunes.
MOVIES: My favorite movie of all time is Waiting for Guffman. Anything that makes me laugh or feel good or even cry happy tears is great in my book! Not super into horror/drama, but I still enjoy watching quality content of any form.
BOOKS: My favorite book is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time". I also really enjoy memoirs like "Orange is the New Black" and "Girl, Interrupted".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm pretty proud of the 12-pitch sport climb I recently did in El Potrero Chico, Mexico! 1200 ft and absolutely beautiful.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always more than happy to teach people how to climb and/or belay! It's part of what I do for work so I'm quite confident in my abilities to teach, and I'm very patient as I often work with children and beginners.
As for learning, I'd love to learn just about anything you're willing to teach me! I love trying new activities, eating new foods, and exploring new places.
I'd enjoy sharing a meal, a theatre experience, a climbing trip, a hike, a workout, a discussion, an adventure, anything!
