I'm totally new to Couchsurfing! What a great concept!

I'm still fleshing out my profile, but have covered most of the basics, I think. :)

I'm originally from Canada (grew up there), and also have 2 more citizenships (US and Italian). I've lived and worked in all 3 countries. And I've traveled in a lot of other countries, too.

I love learning from other people and the experiences they have. And I love sharing and teaching!

I'm an entrepreneur, artist, former engineer (I used to design submarines for Lockheed :), and eastern medicine practitioner (acupuncture, Zen Shiatsu and Hakomi body centered psychotherapy)... that's the overview. :)

I don't see one-on-one patients much these days, though.

Once I started painting 8 years ago, that career took off very quickly and it became the catalyst for my life's work that I'm doing today which combines my engineering background with my healing background with my art.

What I spend most of my time doing these days is teaching medical doctors, lay people and LOTS of others all over the globe about the science behind the healing effects of Color and Light, and how they can be used to easily trigger Flow State (the Zone). I also teach business people how to optimize brain function, creativity & productivity using the science and the right-brain/left-brain aspects of color, light, art & Flow State.

I do a lot of tv, radio and podcast interviews and also speak at a lot of major conferences about these topics....And I write for my blog and various medical publications.... And I have a bunch of videos on Youtube ... And... (there's a lot more, but that's good for a start. :)

I'm close to getting all aspects of my business completely online (including my online Color and Creative Flow training programs) so I can be mobile, work from anywhere, and get back to traveling and exploring the world like I used to do a lot more of before these past 2 years building my business! :)

I love being outdoors and being surrounded by nature. Hiking, camping, being by water, swimming in the ocean or a stream or lake - all are favorites.

Amazing, healthy food is high on my list.
Meeting and chatting over coffee is one of my favorite past times. (I do most of my business meetings and many of my social meetings over coffee in cool coffee shops.)
I love great microbrewery beers (or wine when I'm dining), too.

I love all sorts of music - literally. I especially enjoy listening to regional music styles and musicians when I'm traveling.
I live in the Live Music Capital of the World so that might say something, too. :)
Movies - anything thought-provoking, any film where I learn something cool and new - or a great comedy. :)
I watch several series on streaming video, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I decided on an intuitive impulse to abandon my engineering career, sell almost everything I owned and move to Italy with my 2 cats, knowing almost no one there and not speaking the language ... giving myself only 5 weeks from decision to departure! :)
I lived in Florence, Italy for 7 blissful years - and although I was running my own business, plus studying all the time, I still spent a ton of time hanging out with all my good friends there, exploring the Tuscan countryside, eating amazing food, drinking fabulous wine, and traveling around Italy. Every day felt like I was on vacation!
