About Me
Hello!
I am an international student from Canada, studying in the North of France. I love to travel and to meet new people, I really enjoy getting to experience a new place. I have aspirations to be a lawyer, sometime in the future!
My personality is fun, I can be a bit reserved when meeting someone for the first time but once I get to know them and am comfortable I am a blast! I love making people laugh. I would say that I am considerate of other people, I try to be polite, kind and empathetic towards others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing because it is a great opportunity to find other people with similar interests and to get a local's view of the place that I visit. As someone from North America I am not very familiar with the customs of Europeans, I don't know much about traditions and culture aside from what is similar to my own. I think that this is a wonderful way to learn more about the places I visit than I could learn staying in a hostel with other foreigners.
Interests
I enjoy reading, hiking, eating, travelling, and watching movies. I enjoy singing (though trust me I am not good!) and dancing, also not great. I really like to be outdoors in the sunshine, walking around. I am up for pretty much anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite genre of music is Rock, I like classic and alternative rock. some of my favourite artists are Queen, the Arkells, Aerosmith, AC/DC , Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, the Lumineers. As well as George Ezra, Hozier, Ed Sheeran and a few other artists.
I really like watching super crappy movies, pretty much anything with Amanda Bynes, some great RomComs and action, any Jason Statham movie, all of the Marvel movies. My favourite actor is Leonardo DiCaprio, his film Catch me if you can is one of my all time favourite movies. My favourite actress is a three way tie between Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep and Winona Ryder.
I will read pretty much any book, the most recent book that I read was 'The Girl On The Train' by Paula Hawkins. My favourite book is 'Streetcar Named Desire' by Tennessee Williams which is technically a play but I love it. I have read the Harry Potter series several times and will never apologize for loving it. I have a problem of collecting books, so my bookshelf at home is full of books that I have yet to read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I haven't done anything crazy amazing, like jumping out of a plane. I think something amazing that I have done is to come to Europe by myself for 8 months on an exchange. Flying to France from Canada was my first time on a plane ever, and I have had so many other firsts since coming here. I found my first apartment, I learned how to travel by myself without anyone else helping me, I opened a bank account in a foreign country where I barely speak the language (seriously not easy to do in France). I am living a dream that I've had for as long as I can remember, and I think that's pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't have any special teachable skills, however I am a native English speaker and would love to help with pronunciation and vocabulary if you want. I really enjoy baking and trying new things, so if you want me to make a dessert I am all over it.
I am still trying to learn French, my grasp of the language is abysmal but I am ever optimistic.
I want to be a part of Couchsurfing to get to know the culture of the place that I am visiting, I am a pretty fun person, always up for an adventure.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories of my travels and the experiences that I've had, cultural insights both from my observations here as well as about Canadian culture. I am more than willing to help out in any way needed. Unfortunately Canada doesn't really have a 'traditional' dish, but I would be happy to prepare a meal for my hosts.
