About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm Malaysian-Chinese. Born in Malaysia, grew up in Australia and now working in Hong Kong. I majored in Marketing and am working in Communications at the moment with a focus on corporate events and corporate social responsibility (CSR). My travel albums contain equally as many more photos of food as sights (yup, I'm one of those people who make you wait whilst I take photos of food haha). I love squeezing in a much as I can in each day of my travels, but I'm also happy sitting in a bookshop cafe for an entire afternoon people-watching. Most important for me when I travel, is the people I am with -- whether it be my travel companion(s) or the people I've just met.
PHILOSOPHY
Be open to new ideas, viewpoints and experiences. Learn as much as you can, and then share what you know with others. Life is short -- make the most from what you have. One of my fave quotes is:From the backstabbing co-worker to the meddling sister-in-law, you are in charge of how you react to the people and events in your life. You can either give negativity power over your life or you can choose happiness instead. Take control and choose to focus on what is important in your life. Those who cannot live fully often become destroyers of life. -- Anaïs Nin
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It's a great way to meet new people and learn about different cultures. Often it's the people you meet during your travels that make all the difference, so I'm hoping that through this exchange we can add another memorable experience to each other's lives.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few people in Hong Kong, and met more for drinks/dinner. I've only couchsurfed once - in South Korea in December 2011 - and it was awesome!
Interests
Eating, eating, eating, hiking on the weekends, travelling off the beaten track, vintage shops, coffee, people-watching in cafes, charity runs/hikes (I try to do one each month). Also I enjoy working on corporate social responsibility - at work I am responsible for corporate volunteer programs and initiatives, and increasing employee engagement with NGOs and charities.
