CURRENT MISSION
TO LIVE!!=D
ABOUT ME
I love traveling. I've always not been able to sit still. Even as a kid, I'd race around in my baby walker. Change, that wanderlust, its what I've come to desire - to see the many wonders on this earth, whether natural or manmade, to experience different cultures, and especially to meet and talk to new people. To grow beyond the confines of the society i grew up in, hopefully eventually go beyond society itself, finding my own meaning.
I'm a Singaporean who is studying medicine in Dublin. It's a really beautiful place with a rich culture and marvelous scenery (when its not raining) I am glad to be in.
Self expression is essential for me, I do this through art and writing.
PHILOSOPHY
Vive ut vivas: Live that you may live.
In the bigger picture, we do not matter - our lives merely specks of dust on the parchment of history, human existence barely contributes to a blink in the age of the universe. But in the short span we do have, we define what matters.
There is no point in burrowing into the soft cotton-balled existence of society, in mere existence. I believe in consistently trying to break through the wall of mirrors that we've formed around ourselves.
We should hence experience as much as possible! Live life to the fullest, do the craziest things just for the fun of it, learn from everything and everyone and do what we can for others.

These were such an amazing experiences that worked out so perfectly - meeting so many different people, soaking in the diverse sights and learning so so much about cultures and history.
CS (if used safely) has been life changing - from the experience of living and interacting with a complete stranger who slowly becomes a friend, to its impact on the way you perceive people, it really is something that can only be experienced to be understood.
Interests
Art, I love drawing, usually in pencil/charcoal just to appreciate the soothing beauty in the lines. I paint in watercolour sometimes as well.
Writing and poetry, if you can even call it that. Just little fragments pieced together whenever I feel like it.
Nature. It always astounds. I feel that nothing man-made could ever be comparable. Really anywhere with a beautiful landscape, I could sit and gawk for hours on end.
Long walks, discussions late into the night, laughing at nothing in particular (and getting stares for that), giving flowers to random people, getting lost, planning traveling trips, packing for trips, going on trips, returning home exhausted but happy from traveling (yeah you get the point)...

Music, Movies, and Books
Generally movies and books that make you think, question and appreciate.
Favourite movie of all time: Pan's Labyrinth
I used to be a fan of fantasy books, but am generally more inclined towards non-fiction now. Haruki Murakami, for example, writing in a simple and elegant, yet deep and abstract style. Milan Kundera as well, for his concepts. Oscar Wilde is another favourite - brilliant in his biting sarcastic humour.
Also, books on philosophy and art history.
Music: some mainstream stuff/mostly indie. current fav: Right the Stars!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm fortunate to have seen the northern lights when I visited Norway.
Standing knee high deep in snow, in temperatures below zero degrees - watching your breath spiral into the sky, mirroring the dancing lights above you. You know what it feels to truly be alive.
Teach, Learn, Share
English/Chinese
Random crafts: jewelry making, balloon twisting, clay sculpting
Music: Piano, harmonica
