Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Tom.
I live in Akhaldaba, a quiet area in the hills above Tbilisi (Tskneti), surrounded by forests, small valleys, and fresh mountain air. From here, you get beautiful views over the Caucasus, and daily life is closely connected to nature.
I’ve built a simple but high-quality life here, focused on work, training, cooking, and developing my home and garden. I travel globally for business quite a bit, so I’m not always around. When I am, I enjoy hosting and sharing a bit of this place and lifestyle with people who appreciate it.
Hosting for me is about shared experience, not just offering a place to stay. I enjoy good conversations, cooking together, and spending relaxed evenings on the terrace or by the fire.
Nature is a big part of daily life here. There are great hiking routes starting right from the house, leading through forests, along small rivers, to hidden waterfalls—and even to a 12th-century monastery tucked away in the hills.
I’m also working on an organic / permaculture garden. If you’re interested, you’re welcome to join—whether it’s planting, harvesting, or just learning something new.
I share the house with my cats, who are friendly and always appreciate some attention.
I have a dedicated guest bedroom and two bathrooms, so you’ll have your own comfortable space while still sharing parts of daily life.
I prefer hosting people who are open, respectful, and engaged. If you’re just looking for a free place to sleep, this probably isn’t the right fit. But if you enjoy nature, good conversation, and a bit of shared life, you’re very welcome.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and bringing a bit of the world into my home.
I spend a lot of time working and building my life here, so hosting is a great way to stay connected to new perspectives, ideas, and cultures without constantly being on the move.
I value real conversations, shared experiences, and learning how other people see the world. For me, Couchsurfing works best when it feels natural—cooking together, going for a walk, exchanging stories, or just enjoying a calm evening.
I also like offering a different kind of stay: something a bit more grounded, close to nature, and slower than the typical city experience.
At the same time, I’m selective about who I host. I’m looking for people who are open, curious, and respectful—who want to connect, not just pass through.
If that resonates with you, we’ll likely get along well.
