About Me

ABOUT ME

My name is Lea and I am 20 years old. I am studying International Business in Maastricht, Netherlands at the moment. I love this small, cute, but very vivid city. Everything is close together, the coobled, tiny streets in the city center make a shopping afternoon very enjoyable, but the nightlife is also decent for such a small city.

I am almost always in a good mood. In my opinion, smiling girls are the happiest and the prettiest.
I see life as a priveledge and therefore I try to live it to the fullest, i.e. travelling to new places around the world whenever time and money allow me to, being spontaneous, taking risks, trying out new things and meeting people from many different cultures.

TRAVELLING

For me, travelling is more about meeting the locals or other fellow travellers during my journey and discovering the secrets off the crowded tourist paths than seeing all famous sights or lying on the beach the entire day.
There is a certain excitement about packing my belongings into my backpack and leaving to another country, sometimes unsure how long your savings last or where you spend the next night.

PHILOSOPHY

I haven't been everywhere, but it is on my list

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best way of discovering a city and its culture is to meet the locals. Couchsurfing is a great tool for meeting new people and finding a place to stay at the same time.

Interests

I am absolutely in love with photography. My camera is always with me when I am travelling and most of the time at home as well. I especially love taking pictures of water and common objects from a different angle.
When I am travelling, I take about a million pictures, which I then print out and collect in a book together with other little things reminding me of that particular place.

I play Volleyball and I love music and making music. I play the piano and the saxophone, but unfortunately I was not able to take it to my student room.

However, most of my time I spend with my friends, here in Maastricht or in Oldenburg, where I am originally from. I love to go shopping and go out at night.

Music, Movies, and Books

My interests are all across the board. Since I study though, watching movies and reading books sort of left the picture and was replaced by studying and meeting friends at coffeelovers or anywhere else.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experienced New Year's Eve on the beach in Rio de Janeiro with Music, amazing people, nice atmosphere and caipirinhas.
Spent two days on the road to get from Istanbul to Budapest by train.
Worked in a hostel in Argentina

Teach, Learn, Share

My study is in English, but since I am living in the Netherlands, I would love to be able to improve my dutch (which is really poor :D).
I would love to teach you some German or other language if you like and I am always up for taking pictures and share them with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to exchange personal travelling experiences and I am always open-minded towards experiencing your culture and lifestyle.
