To visit new places and make new friends! I want to do the travelling I never got chance to do when I was younger.

ABOUT ME

I studied abroad in the US last Spring Semester. During my travels I took part in Couchsurfing and it's been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I've met so many new friends who I'm still in contact with now.

In December 2011 I interrupted my studies; because I was struggling to concentrate. I will be going back in September 2012 but until then I'm going to do everything I can to try and find myself (not an easy job!).

I co-host a radio show called The American Dream Team on a community radio station in the UK (Siren FM), which has allowed me to meet a lot of people and do lots of exciting things (also some exotic location reports from the US!)

The USA has always been a love of mine and my recent travel has been there. But I want to experience other places too in the future: China, other parts of Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America. Anywhere that isn't your basic package holiday.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couchsurfed in the US several times, and it's been a great experience. I hope that I might be able to return the favour in the future and host other couch surfers. Currently I'm in a house share so I'm not able to host but I am happy to meet anyone travelling in Lincoln for coffee and a tour of my beautiful home town!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed nine times in the last 9 months and I love it. All the couch hosts I've met have been great people and I've enjoyed getting to know them and their lives. It's also given me the opportunity to meet other couch surfers on their travels, having met many other great folks at Couch Surfing events. I have a great group of friends in LA now!

Interests

I love reading and music, two things I love to do when travelling! I also love writing which is something I've started doing lots of since I got to the States. I think the travelling has really inspired me!! I really want to see more of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies! There are always too many to mention...
Music is a great love of mine, it can be so emotive. I'm mostly into rock and pop, my favourite bands are Mr. Big, Matchbox Twenty and the Eagles. I love going to concerts.
Reading has always been something I've loved doing. Agatha Christie is my favourite British writer but since I started my degree I've got into more American writers. I love modern writers such as Patricia Cornwell, Michael Connolly and Jeffrey Deaver, as well as 19th Century writers such as Kate Chopin and Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Studying in the US has definitely been the key to all the amazing things I've done! I've travelled all over the US, it inspired me to write my first short story and read it in front of an audience and I finally know what I want to do with my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Couchsurfing has been a great experience for me and has made my travels in the US much more fun and interesting. It's great to stay with local people so you can feel less like a tourist and more like you are visiting a friend.
