We are Manon and Laurent, two French weirdos starting our journey around the world in May 2022 !

First stop : the American continents ! Our plan so far is to start from Montreal, Canada and slowly go towards the southern point of America, through Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and so on...

Before leaving France Manon was working as a communication officer in a small NGO and Laurent was (and still is) a cameraman and video editor.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

We are traveling with somewhat of a purpose : we want to meet local participants of eco-tourism all around the world and share their accomplishments and inspiring projects. With that said, we are trying to be as conscious as possible of our carbon emissions while traveling, as well as taking the time to understand the history, diversity and culture of the countries and people we visit !

Hence, couchsurfing is definitely a platform that could allow us to meet YOU, an amazing local person who has so many stories to tell ! We like talking (not too much, do not worry). We hope we can be of good company and spend time with you, sharing experiences and stories :)

Intereses

Manon loves to meet new people (like most of us right?) and hearing about their stories. She might be a bit of a coffee addict, but besides that, she remains very much sain.

Laurent loves videography, duh that's his job :D He loves filming random places and nature, getting lost in the wild. He loves eating, his favourite are Thai, Indian and Italian cuisine.

Laurent is a huge fan of cinema and he really doesn't have a preference. Manon loves shows like The Queen's Gambit, The Handmaid's Tale, Superstore, West World etc.

We love music (who does not ?) and listen to lots of different genres. Manon loves genres like Jungle, Parcels and others while Laurent has a preference for electronic music in its diversity. From ambiance music like Bonobo, Odesza, Fakear, The Blaze

. crashed a big fat Vietnamese wedding in Hoi-An
. motorcycle loop in Northern Vietnam, at the Chinese border (crashed several times, but i'm okay)
. worked for a bit in Bihar, India
. accepted to date Laurent (trust me that's a bit of an extraordinary adventure)

Laurent :

. Motorbike crash in Laos. 48h of nightmare!
. Bungy-jumping in France, New Zealand and Nepal
. A tattoo in Thailand in a dodgy place. Another tattoo done in Auckland, NZ (Polynesian mix retracing my trips in the Pacific).
. Scuba-diving the "SS Coolidge" in Vanuatu, after my first introduction dive in the morning, we went 33m deep, I nearly died.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

We hope we can help you with something while we stay at your place :

Manon is an excellent cook and will fix you something really quickly with fridge leftovers and Laurent is a good kitchen hand. The both of us are of good help in the kitchen !

Laurent is good with computers, cameras, videocameras and other tech stuff in general. If you have a software problem, maybe he could fix it or teach you how to better use your camera !

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

We could share some good travel tips (where to go and where not). Crazy stuff that happened during our travels that you'll never forget, whether it's good or bad. The worst stories make the best conversations !

Laurent could repair or help you with your computer if you have any problems. He's a geek with camera gear and a good teacher in this domain.
