About Me
Hi! My name is Lecy.
I am originally from Chicago, but I grew up overseas in Spain and China. Now I am back in Chicago for university, but after living overseas for so long I am anxious to start traveling abroad again.
I want to lead a life with few regrets and that involves forging opportunities for myself to see the world and experience different cultures as often as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It is very important to me to get a local perspective when I travel. Couchsurfing is a great way of meeting locals and hearing from them what the place I am visiting is like.

Music, Movies, and Books
I once was lent World War Z by a backpacker at a hostel in Japan and I fell in love with that type of apocalyptic genre.
In terms of music there is not much I can't enjoy. I really like RnB, alternative, rock, hip-hop and jazz.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing things are yet to happen, but I think my favorite traveling memory is the time I got lost hiking in China and ended up staying with a local Yao family in the rural countryside. They showed me their rice terraces and shared food and stories.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sharing and Learning, though I do plan on being a teacher once I have completed my degree.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook and I am guaranteed to travel with some interesting varieties of tea. I would love to tell you about my travels and hear about yours.
