A third-culture kid, I've lived in five countries and six cities, and am addicted to learning more about the world.

I've been partnered with an amazing guy in an open relationship for the last five years, and we have four almost grown kids, two of whom are 4/5th time with us and two of whom are half time, so our hosting ability varies on a day to day basis, depending on whether we have all, some or none of our spawn on deck ;)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I like meeting people, and learning more about the world we live in. I've done a fair bit of travel - a lot of it backpacking - and now I'm keen to try couchsurfing to get costs down, contribute as a host, and get out to see even more of the world.

Particularly keen to hang with / accommodate kinksters, choristers, writers and general nerds.

Intereses

I'm a choral composer in my spare time (not often enough!). I also like to write extremely dodgy novels under even dodgier pseudonyms. If you're into either pursuit, talk with me about your work - I love to share ideas with other emerging artists.

The rest of my spare time is taken up renovating and landscaping our centrally-located villa. We've done the hot water and heating, so it's cosy and comfortable, but now we're busy with the cosmetic side of things, making the place into a truly amazing home. It's a lot of work, but my partner and I are enjoying every minute of it!

When not doing all that, I like to travel. Goals include India and Japan, neither of which I've visited - yet!

Música, películas y libros

Music: I like pretty much any sort of music. Love to sing, especially in pubs ;)

Movies: My partner and I have been going through our bucketlists, which are pretty eclectic. Really enjoyed "Gattaca" the other night. Hated "50 Shades". Loved "Secretary". My favourite movie of all time is probably either "Team America" or "Singin' In The Rain", followed by every other big Hollywood musical, although I didn't think much of "La La Land".

TV-wise, I'm enjoying "Outlander" at the moment, and waiting for "Game of Thrones" to come back. Really like "Shameless". Love "The Young Ones" and anything Monty Python.

Books: Just finished "The Handmaid's Tale" which was incredible. Love dystopian novels generally, as long as they're good ones. Next on my reading list is "Fahrenheit 451", which I've been intending to read for ages but never have. Love "The Lord of the Rings" (but hated the movie version of The Hobbit). Love "Pride and Prejudice" - I've read it over and over again, and love it more each time. Lately I've been reading mainly non-fiction - a fair bit on minimalism, which I've enjoyed and found useful.

Work-wise, I've a background in technical writing and administration, so I'm pretty adept in anything that needs documenting, organising or writing. I've also done a fair amount of event management and planning, so if you want something organised, I'm your person.

I teach Code Club as a volunteer, and have done so for over 3 years. I can help you set up a website, and do all the plain HTML / CSS stuff behind it.

I'm great with CVs, and can help with any letter writing that needs doing.

Travel-wise, I'm great at navigating and finding my way around - I seem to have pretty much perfect recall of any place I've been to, so I'm great to have on your team if you're travelling, because I don't ever get lost.

Practical-wise, I ran a small farm for years, am familiar with running sheep, and have dealt with all aspects of their care and management. The farm was also pretty heavy in fruit and nuts (hazelnuts), so I'm pretty good with that sort of stuff. And I'm great with fixing wire fences ;) I've also kept chickens for years (currently keep them still!), so anything with chooks that needs doing I can do.

Inside the home, I'm pretty much an expert painter and decorator, having fully renovated 2 homes and now working on my third. Painting is my jam!

I am involved with the Kink (BDSM) community, and can introduce visitors to local events if you're interested (I play to the left). I enjoy good subby guys who like being controlled and enjoy fairly robust CBT.
