About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Fit in as much interesting stuff as possible into my short life.
ABOUT ME
Hmmm I am from North Carolina in the United States. I didn't leave NC until I was 19 when I took a road trip up the east coast with stops in DC, Philly, NYC, Boston, Montreal, Quebec City, and Maine. After that I was able to study abroad in Montpellier, France for a semester, then my appetite for traveling really grew. I then traveled throughout southern Mexico in a Mexican archeology and culture class in 2009. I graduated and needed to hit the road again and visited St. Lucia and New Orleans both within the next year. In 2010 I accepted a teaching assistant position in Strasbourg, France and had maybe the greatest year of my life in that lovely alsatian city!
Once I returned to the states I immediately began taking measures to become a nurse. I have now graduated from Duke with a BSN in Durham, NC where I (for now) call home and I am an emergency department nurse.
I have a lovely girlfriend as well as two great dogs, Sula and Trixie, who are superb creatures. I've done a fair amount of traveling, but I am hungry for more and I love to meet others who have that same hunger.
PHILOSOPHY
Can't we all at least be courteous?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I kind of piggy backed onto the program a few years ago through a friend who was a member when we took a road trip. We stayed with people she found through her account in Boston and Montreal.
Then I joined the couch surfing network in 2010 and stayed with the lovely Victoire of Strasbourg, France for about a week while I found my own lodging. I met some people through the couch surfing network back in Strasbourg as well.
I am interested in becoming a more regular participant with the program.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
During August of 2005 after my freshman year at Appstate, some friends and I took a road trip from Boone, NC to the Quebec province of Canada making many stops in between as well. We used the couch surfing community for places to stay in Philadelphia, Boston, and Montreal. This was a great experience and we met several extremely nice and giving people who lent their couches and generosity.
I again used the couch surfing network upon my arrival in Strasbourg, France. I stayed with a great hostess who shared her apartment with me until I found my own lodgings. She was extremely generous and helpful as I worked my way into a new city.
Later in 2011, a friend and I stayed with an amazing hostess in Athens, Greece.
