ABOUT ME

Hi everybody,
I'm Leendert, 28 years old. I live in Utrecht, have studied history, philosophy and tax law. Have lived in Groningen and Rotterdam previously. I have travelled extensively through South America and Europe (and a little bit in North America and Asia). I spent most of my spare time catching up with friends (sometimes in combination with partying), literature/music/other cultural stuff and the organization of big pyschological strategic games.

PHILOSOPHY

Always try to look for the cracks in what everybody else thinks. Take these cracks as a basis and you will have your own total new world view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted people previously, but since I moved this will be more difficult in my current location. I travel a lot in weekends and might want to couchsurf ocassionally.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met someone in Cordoba, Argentina, and we were set to go somewhere. When he went somewhere (and didn't really specifiy whereto) me and his friends spent nearly two hours trying to locate him (since none of the Argentinians had any credit on their mobiles, that's supposedly an Argentinian thing). It was also the same night that banks had suddenly decided that you couldn't withdraw more than 300 pesos a time. Since it didn't mention why I didn't get my money, I was sort of worried. Luckily, I could borrow some money and worry about the money the day after.
We found the guy, went out and had the greatest time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Salinas Grandes in Argentina. Wasn't really planning of going there and then I just went. It's at a 3500 meter heights and there is nothing but salt to be seen, because it used to be an ocean.
Top of the main cathedral in Florence, Tuscany, was probably the most beautiful place on earth. You could see over the entire city and the Tuscan countryside in the background.
