About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The adventures of an Armchair Pirate Across the USA.
ABOUT ME
My name is Elise and I consider myself a melting pot. I was born to a French mother of Turkish Armenian extractionand an English father. I have lived most of my life in Amiens, a medium sized town in the north of France half way between Calais, in order to be close to England and my father's family, and Paris in order to be close to my mother's family. I have two big sisters who are half Spanish. My life has beena mix of cultures. I have heard French, English, Spanish and Turkish being spoken around me. I have eaten food from these different countries. I have heard stories and sayings from these different cultures. And I can't wait to hear loads more!
I love to laugh. I like having all sorts of fun from dancing to boardgames. I'm mildly obsessed with pirates. They've fascinated me all my life and I've found a way to study them for my Master's dissertation and I love it! I also love cinema, I've studied it and have a tendency to compulsively watch most films that come out! I am interested in everything and anything!I feel that until now I have been an armchair adventurer, an armchair pirate. I am coming to the end of my studies and I am determined to broaden my horizons and find out more about the world and gain more experience before I put myself on the job market. This year, I'm a French TA at Austin College, Sherman, TX! It's great, I'm loving it! Life on an American campus is so different to what I'm used to France!
PHILOSOPHY
Overcome your fears and try anything once.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well I'd like to do some couchsurfing and meet loads of new interesting people. I don't have a couch to share since I'm living in a dorm this year! Hopefully in the near future, I'll have a one to offer!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done some couchsurfing in California and it went well. Looking forward to doing more on my next big adventure on the East Coast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My 9months here in Texas have been amazing, I have done so much that I would not have done back home and I intend to do so much more.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach French, cook Turkish Armenian food my grandma taught me, talk about great places in London and Paris, about pirates and how they organised their ships democratically and equally.
