Travelling often, working some of the time but trying to make the most of these new places.

ABOUT ME

I'm a writer (on politics, sport, culture). I'd much rather meet people as I travel and see what your lives are like, rather than be stuck in hotels and get to know nothing. And when my life changes and I spend more time at home, I'll look forward to hosting.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't be a dick. Remember you don't know everything. Find something funny when things go wrong. That way everyone wins.

I've had limited opportunity, but every experience so far has been positive. I'm keen to keep having more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not necessarily through the website, but lots of friends I've made overseas have ended up staying with me once they visited Australia, and I've crashed with plenty of friends of friends of friends. It's good for everyone.

Intereses

Anything that's funny, telling jokes, talking shit, even with people you can hardly understand. The best way to make friends is to laugh together. Writing. Reading. Music. Drinking. Good company, food, beer (or whatever is handy), hot nights or clear afternoons. Not planning.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Night on Earth, The Shawshank Redemption. Hip-hop, electronic, folk-rock. Pretty much all books - even the shit ones are books.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Going to Antarctica, sitting up all night with a big glass of gin, and watching the sunset that never ended and then turned into a sunrise. The gin stayed perfectly cold at -3 degrees all night long.
