Nowadays I'm a graduate student in Social Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur. I coordinate a network of film clubs which organize film shows in our city and state. I'm fond of art & culture and love to travel to cities as well as to nature environments. One of the greatest experiences for myself is to meet people from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite composers are Bach, Mozart and Scarlatti, but I also enjoy modern composers like John Cage, Philip Glass and Osvaldo Golijov. I like rock bands like Radiohead, Kraftwerk and the more classic ones like Pink Floyd and The Stones.

In film my taste is wide: from silent to contemporary, I'm interested in every film that explore the vast horizons beyond mainstream. My favorite film directors are Lubitsch, Murnau, Lang, all the amazing auteurs of the Nouvelle Vague (Godard, Truffaut, Rohmer, Chabrol, Rivette) and the Rive Gauche ones (Resnais, Varda, Marker), many of the Hollywood classics (Hitchcock, Ford, Wilder, Wiler, Von Sternberg, Wellman, Capra, Welles, Hwaks, the list is huge), Mexicans and Latinoamerican (Buñuel, Gámez, Rocha, Gutiérrez Alea, Cuarón, Del Toro, Solanas, Guzmán). I love film from around the world: Africa (Diop Mambety & Sembene), Asia (from Mizoguchi to Wong Kar-wai) and Oceania (Campion, Jackson, Weir, Law); not to mention East European, Russian & Iranian.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ixchel and I were the first ones to get married in Cabo San Lázaro, an amazing site in the Magdalena Island (the longest Mexican island).
