About Me

I'm a Vietnamese visual artist, practicing on paintings and sculptures.
I'm curious with the world we're living in and excited to know people coming from different backgrounds.
I'm open minded and want to look at things as a half full cup.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm solo travelling in Indonesia soon. The best thing about travelling alone is that you get to talk and interact more with people on the road. Each person opens different points of view on the world and I believe with couchsurfing I can make friends and get to know stories of people and places.

Interests

I'm definitely an art lover and never tired of exploring culture. When visiting places, 1st thing I want to see is art then nature and lastly food. I also love creative activities and actually host a lot creative workshops in Hanoi.
I'm a fan of mountains, woods, greenish landscapes (probably that's why I dont know how to swim)
Oh and I love lie down in beautiful landscape, actually have an album photo of me lying in places lol.

Music, Movies, and Books

My Favourite music spreads from progressive metal to indie, Philip Glass and some even pop and funky songs.
For movies I love Quentin Tarantino and Scifi movies (Westworld is one of the best now for me) but sometimes cheesy rom-com can also hit me.
And books, Haruki Murakami is my fav author. Artist books, zines are my type too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, one amazing thing I've done is I founded an art space in Hanoi last year. I always thrive to try new things and want to see how far I can go with those. After coming back Hanoi, I opened art education classes for kids and art lovers all ages. We have done many things with it: workshops, film screenings, even experimental music gig. Then last year, I decided that I expand it into an art space. It's an alternative art space running by artist. I believe instead of complaining about being in a developing country, we need to be the change or try to make something happen big or small in our capability.

Teach, Learn, Share

1st of all I am also an art teacher. For me teaching is never an one way street. My students from all ages always inspire me and encourage me doing things I love. I believe as two people (or more) interact and share stories, it's already a teach/learn/share process.
Life is about sharing, we sharing our air, our land, our thoughts and our identities to people who pass by and people we meet. You actually can never be entirely alone. I love sharing my thoughts and perspective to people and I even love it more when people share theirs with me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very new to couchsurfing. I can cook you some Vietnamese food (you know how good it is) if I have ingredients and chance. And creative activities or games if we have time.
