About Me

I love learning and I love connection. To me, one of the most beautiful things about being human is that we never stop learning. The world is filled with novelties that allow us to continuously grow and connect with others. I'm a strong advocate in the exchange of stories and believe that great conversation is the biggest way to foster understanding, connection, and cultural exchange. Each individual you encounter is a story waiting to be heard and it is up to you to accept that invitation. From my love of learning, comes my desire to push my boundaries, for outside my comfort zone is where growth can truly begin!

I was born in Canada, but have been raised in the United States by two parents who came from the Philippines.

I consider myself incredibly passionate about people and life. And my favorite thing is to hear people talk about their own passions! You can catch me talking to strangers on the street or being engaged by most anything that passes me by. People have often told me that I'm very good at a) making new people feel comfortable and b) making people feel like old friends.

I love history and have loved learning about history for as long as I can remember. I suppose my passion for stories stems from my love for history. This is a huge part of why I chose to study abroad in Rome.

I am currently studying Psychology at my university and my ultimate goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist. I am very, very passionate about mental illness, how the human mind works, human behavior, the realm of psychology, and the interactions between human. I could talk your ear off about all things Psychology, the unfortunate stigma behind mental illness, and anything in between. But if you asked me what my ultimate second dream job would be, it would be a travel journalist. I couldn't think of anything better than to not only hear the stories of the people I encounter, but to be able share them with people in other sectors of the world.

I am one of the most go-with-the-flow individuals you will meet. This is largely because I believe new experiences foster growth and largely because I'm a huge extrovert. I'll try any food you put in front of me and I'm open to any experience you believe will be enriching.

I'm very keen on dancing, dance parties, dancing while cooking, dancing while not cooking, dancing in the streets. You name it. I'm not good but I still do it anyway.

Movies that make my heart stir and expand my world view are the best movies. As you can see from my selection below, I'm very partial to international themed movies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be embarking on a pilgrimage to Poland for World Youth Day followed by a European backpacking trip to Prague, Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest, Split, and Medjugorje followed by a semester spent studying in Rome, Italy. I'm interested in meeting locals while exchanging company, culture, and conversation. Couchsurfing will be an incredible way for me to encounter individuals who are more than willing to interact with a foreigner and engage in cultural exchange!
