I am an artist having lived 15 years in Montreal and done lots of travelling - I spent the last few years exploring the west coasts, the islands and various places. I grew up in Erin, Ontario but my whole family is from NFLD - my 92 yr old Poppy is in Deerlake NFLD and my parents are in Ontario. I am starting a new job teaching animation in Antigonish at StFX - I am SO excited - I love that place! I realize that I feel more at home on the east coast - I guess it must be my Atlantic roots.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because I am trying to ease in to Antigonish this summer and find the right apartment for my needs while there. I start work in September, and I plan on arriving the last week of July. I would like to be settled by the time my contract begins at STFX U.

I have ecclectic tastes - I am a curious soul. I prefer live music, but love records and tapes and am open to trying to new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just travelled across the country by car and saw 2 grizzlies, 4 black bears, many elk, pelicans, deer and moose. I am now working a contract at my old job in Montreal at Mosaika - we are making a large scale public art mosaic installation for Yoko Ono. I worked there while completing my graduate work and for several years after assisting on projects for famous artists like Chuck Close and Teresita Fernandez. I also do random theatre contracts and love dance - my passion is for visual art. I am working on an illustration project called Deep Earth. I guess that is more than one thing...
