Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn and teach alternative ways of living WITH our planet
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Wellington (creative capital of New Zealand I might add) in a house that looks over a beautiful bush reserve - though it will be missed I look forward to seeing other beautiful things the world has to offer.
I am currently in the middle of a design degree but feel the need to spread my wings and explore some of the world, in a hope to better my design work as well as broaden my worldview. "Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future."
— Robert L. Peters
I should probably note that I am a pescaterian (vegetarian who eats fish) and although I don't agree with spicy food, nor it with me, I am very open to try new things!
PHILOSOPHY
Live WITH this world not against it - my most important belief.
Treat people how you want to be treated
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I wish to meet some lovely people in Croatia, Italy, Germany and France through couchsurfing - a brilliant community group!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had a fantastic experience in Paris with my brother as well as alone.
I hope to have some more great experiences with my brother when we travel to India in October!
Interests
Ultimate dream: become a famous film maker...however, I will be happy with 'well regarded documentary maker'!
I am hoping to create some short documentaries while I travel, but we will see what happens - I think it will be important to live 'in the moment' and not get too distracted by documenting everything
I have recently had an enthusiasm for vegetable gardening, and hope to keep this enthusiasm alive as I travel - perhaps I could document the various ways people grow there own food and WHY they grow it...If I find it interesting then surely other people might?
My most recent short film explores the mind of someone who has experienced a loss. I leave it open to interpretation...

Music, Movies, and Books
Science Fiction and Fantasy. Do not scorn. There is nothing better than a wonderful adventure in a distant land with outrageous creatures or technological advances, so inspirational! I've grown up with Stargate SG-1 and absolutely love Dr Who, brilliant.
Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde is fantasic, amazing and hilarious. If you love classic novels (Jane Eyre is the main focus in book one) then Ffordes whitty insights is sure to make you smile.
Also Dune and the Chronicals of Thomas Covenant have always been a favorite
Music... Rodrigo y Gabriella are a fantastic guitar duo, and James Cook is another with that feel
I've been a tad obsessed with Florence and the Machine and The Black Keys lately, but am keen to be shown some new music!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving! Would never do it again. One of my biggest fairs is being in a crashing plane and, well, falling from one is as close as I ever want to get! But I did it and I'm proud of doing it, it is a fairly significant fear I have been able to overcome.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to think I have a good eye for design and film. I would jump at the opportunity to help anyone in these aspects, whether they need to promote something or want to explore photography/film making for what ever reason.
I love playing sport and could teach a thing or two about Cricket and Netball.
I wish to learn more about vegetable and fruit growing!
Also, music is a passion of mine and would enjoy being showed new (or old) types of music, live music would be wonderful
I should really learn some 'kiwi' tunes to be able to show people...
