About Me

Hey, my CS friends!
Please, call me Lei =)

# Surfers: I'll be travelling for 10 years around the world, so unfortunately I will not be able to host anyone in Brazil... #

I always loved travels, adventure and learning new things. I finally started my travel around the world in March of 2017, and the plan is to travel for 10 years non-stop. I'm a backpacker in a real low budget, that's because I don't want to have much money, I don't appreciate consumerism. I try to live as simple as possible. I always hitchhike, make wild camping, do volunteer work, do not pay for attractions or fancy places, my clothes are usually donations of friends, so the small money I have is just to buy food from time to time and in case of an emergency.

I don't have any social networks and I don't use a mobile phone at all since 2014. I'm like... an old fashion. But I have email! So you always can talk to me by there or by here.

I am not a party person. I don't go out to pubs and restaurants, not only because I don't use money but also because it is not my vibe. When I am not exploring the country I am visiting, I like to stay at home, relaxing, reading, writing or watching a movie. Or simply doing nothing =)

I always thought that how many more experiences you have, more you live! So every time you have the opportunity to do something again, do it different. Try another path, another color, another flavor, another version of yourself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way to meet local people and to know more about the country you're visiting! I have met some truly wonderful souls and great heart people through this website.
And of course it helps a lot , if like me, you're a poor traveler haha =D

I like to spend time with my hosts (that's why I always try to ask for more than just one night) doing some talking, cooking, going for sight seen, watching movies, etc. But I also like to have some time for myself, to have some quiet and reflection time, that's why I enjoy to travel alone.

*** Please hosts: CS is not a website for dating! You can use Facebook, Tinder or whatever all those other apps especially for that. CS is for travelers who only want to discovery more of the culture around the world and make new friends, nothing more. Thanks for your understanding!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I was 23 and had never traveled alone. So I take a bus (15 hours travelling) to Rio de Janeiro and went to a concert of Lulu Santos, a musician that I love! P.s.: there were 2 concerts, one on Friday and another on Saturday. I went to both. In the second night, after the first song, he looked right at me and asked: "Again?!" One of the best things that have ever happened to me!

- Learn how to ride a bike by myself (at 27)

- Manage how to get rid of a kidnapper in Tangier, Morocco

- Sleep on a big road in Rabat, just with my sleeping bag, no tent

- Sleep on the road in Mozambique, with women shop keepers

- Make a wild camping outside of the Tsavo National Park, in Kenya

- Survive at a wild camping between elephants and hippos passing by, in Botswana

- Travelling non-stop, by hitchhiking, around 54 countries, for 5 years and ½
