Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

Live a dream life

ABOUT ME

I was born in Bilbao but, for some reason, my parents decided to tell the authorities (and therefore so say all my official documents) I was born in San Sebastian. I have never lived in any of these two places, but I have visited them both and must admit I like the second one better. Expensive to live though.

I grew up in Vitoria. My family and I have lived in several different houses because every two years or so our landlord's son or daughter got married and inherited the flat we were renting. We moved house at least five times, and each time many of my emotionally precious belongings were thrown away or mysteriously lost. Any object that has made it through all the movings is a real survivor. Or it would be, since I cannot think of any right now...

This is how I learnt that you must enjoy what you have while you have it... you never know when the landlord’s offspring will get married!

It's already 1 a.m. and tomorrow I have to wake up early to study... More to come soon.

So many! and life is so short!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Some people like books that make them think. I wish I could say that (it sounds more intelectual), but the books I have always enjoyed most are those that make me dream. And each period of my life has had its own favorite.
I guess my first book ever was one of those “My first picture dictionary” at the age of two. By the time I was three I was probably more into animal stories that my parents had to read one hundred times... in a row. I remember Babar in particular. And Barbapapa, which was a family of different color cotton candy characters that could turn into any imaginable shape. Pretty cool.
Then came my “Princess Era”. I liked every single princess that was ever drawn on a piece of paper or book, particularly Disney ones.
At some point I got over that flirtatiousness and started dreaming that I could solve all kinds of mysteries, even if I was only eight. That’s when I read all my mom’s childhood books (which, by the way, didn’t get lost in any house moving, hum): The Happy Hollister, Five, Secret Seven, Puck etc.
A milestone in my life was Roald Dahl. Never has a grown-up understood so well what children need: fantasy. He must have been a cool father.
Little to mention about the books I read in my teenage years. Maybe silly books are useful in silly periods of life.
This is getting long and there are still so many books I have loved! I will just mention some of the most important novels that shaped me up:

* The two books that could have made a rural teacher of me: “Cinco panes de cebada” by Lucía Baquedano and “Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy Maud Montgomery

* The two books that made a doctor of me: “The beacon at Alexandria” by Gillian Bradshaw and “The last jew” by Noah Gordon

* The two books that, no matter how many times I read, always bring smiles to my face, and peace to my soul. The two books that, no matter who you are, I recommend you should read: “Le petit prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and “Mafalda” by Quino.

What I like most about music is its ability to transport you to a particular moment in your life and make you feel the exact same excitement, joy, craziness, love, defiance, fun, loneliness and even sorrow that you felt back then. Every song is linked to a person, a place, a time, a thought and a feeling. That’s what makes songs special.

My favorite movies are “La vita è bella” and “Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain”. I love the main characters’ philosophy of life, and I find the way they make other people’s lives so special and magic truly inspiring.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Parachuting in France was quite an experience (not so much because it was in France, but because it was a 40 second free fall!)
