I'm a kiwi gal from New Zealand, travelling the Americas, working my way from Canada to Chile/Argentina, and currently in Central America. I'm what one might call an introverted extrovert. I enjoy engaging in meaningful conversations and bonding with genuine people, and I refuel with time spent alone.

I am working on being more present in day to day life, and enjoy the small things life affords us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet a diverse range of people, engage in cultural and language exchange, or just get to know one another and hear each others life stories. This is me getting out of my comfort zone. I'd also love to make new friendships as I go.

Interests

I love spending multiple days in the backcountry hiking and camping, being away from the urban way of life and disconnecting from the grid.

Kayaking and paddleboarding are my go to for water sports. 2023 I learnt to fish (after disliking fish most of my life, tastebuds change haha), and now enjoy the peace of jigging from a boat or casting from the beach or rocks, and being able to provide for myself, friends and family.

I connect easily with animals, and one day hope to open my own sanctuary for domestic pets in my home country. Dogs especially hold a special place in my heart, and you will likely catch me smiling at every one that I pass.

I can easily spend the day reading a new book, or watching a movie when the weather is drab. I also enjoy the competitive nature of board games or sitting fire side with a hot drink (or red wine haha) and enjoying a good chat or comfortable silence.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read, I read atleast a few books a month, sometimes within a week. I love all kinds of music, really depends on my mood. Classic rock or 80s/90s music is my go to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've ascended Mt. Kilimanjaro, which has brought a want and need to do more ascents.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always up for learning new things that help me grow, and hope that I have something to offer in return.

I have an interest in meditation and breathwork that I hope to immerse myself in during my current travels. Finding inner peace and being a calm presence is something I long to have and be.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help around your home with any projects you have. I'm very good at keeping a place neat and clean. If you have pets, I'll be happy to entertain, walk or take them for exercise. I can make basic food, but I'm not great, or I can provide the ingredients to cook a meal with you. I can also be your companion if you want to head out on an adventure or hike. Happy to be social or stay out of the way and do my own thing, whichever you prefer.
