About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Set a Solid foundation at home to be able to continue travelling and hosting for a very long time.
Some possible destinations on my list are Cuba, Patagonia, Machu Pichu, Bali, Brasil (again), North Pole, Thailand, more of Mexico, Forrest gumping it through the US, I'll leave it there for now. =)

ABOUT ME

Hello my name is Alejandro... (yes like the song.... Outdated Lady Gaga reference)Born in San Diego, CA & raised in Tijuana, MX. I have been a border crosser all my life which has given me the opportunity to thrive, adapt, blend in & enjoy the best of both worlds. I am fluent in both English & Spanish and hope to be fluent in Portuguese before the end of 2012 (failed). I Graduated with a BA in Social Work & a Minor in Psychology from SDSU and for the past year worked as a youth advocate in Foster care & freelanced with other non profits helping organize charity events (awesome times); since then I have continued to work on Behavioral Health with kids & teens and have continued to expand my horizons as an entrepreneur... I love Capoeira, Surfing, Tennis, Rock Climbing & roller bladding. Some of my other hobbies include jogging, acting, going to the movies, writing, visiting museums, playing poker & chess and many many more things. Currently I am looking at expanding my life experiences, traveling and learning about new cultures & lifestyles.

PHILOSOPHY

Best way I can describe my lifestyle is Chaos Controlled which is a great place to start if you want to begin to understand my philosophy in life. I once found a simple & catchy phrase inside a piece of chocolate, this wrapper is now posted on my wall as a constant reminder of what I need to do in life.... ¨Make Someday, Today¨

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a man who forgave the killer of his son and through his drive to make a difference in the world created a foundation to stop youth violence so no other parent has to go through the suffering he went through; He has dedicated his life to preventing youth violence in all aspects of his life. He has inspired me in realizing that 1 person can make a difference if he chooses to. Thanks Azim Khamisa

Teach, Learn, Share

All my life I have lived a bicultural lifestyle jumping back & forth between SD, CA. & TJ, MX. I´m fully bilingual and have had the pleasure & privilage to make great connections & amazing friends on both sides with local artist, entreprenuers, businesses, NGOs & even Gov. officials . If you need anything on either side, I´m your man.
I´m always interested in learning new things about all cultures and different perspectives in life... We may not agree sometimes, but we will learn from each other.
