I'm currently on a travel journey in Europe, it's the kind of trip that purposefully has no plan and no preset destinations. This travel journey started in the beginning of July 2022 where I live in the Netherlands, and has taken me through western germany where I stayed at beautiful camping sites, one of which had a lake! :)

I'm now in Berlin, I didn't know I was going to be here a few days ago, but ended up not being able to overcome the urge to stop by the big city I heard so much about and always wanted to visit. After spending one day in Berlin, I thought for a moment that I'm satisfied with the time spent here and that I would wake up the next morning and continue with my journey. The next morning I realized I had not had enough of Berlin yet. So I'm here, sitting at a cafe in Friedrichshain drinking a smoothie and unexpectedly creating this Couchsurfning profile.

So yes, you thought correctly, while in day-to-day life I'm quite serious, but in my free time (such as this time) I prefer to wander, explore, meet people, make decisions as needed for the day, enjoy my time and be safe at all times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Berlin, yes, this city stop in Summer 2022 made me re-create my Couchsurfing profile. I was a CSer from 2006 to 2014, meeting people at home and abroad, hosting travellers, surfing couches, and attending good community events. Then I decided to delete my CS profile, never knowing that I will be creating one again today :)

What I'm looking for is meeting people, staying with them for a day or two, experiencing life as it is and sharing experiences together.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of music from around the world, with a good amount being electronic, within that space I enjoy many genres and sub-genres, from chillout to minimal, techno and house, some EDM, and a bit of upbeat and psy.

My interest in film and movies is momentary, with that I mean that I enjoy watching things for the joy or the experience of the moment, I personally do not reminise on what I watched afterwards, so my approach to movies is mainly to enjoy what I see and move on.

As for books, I have spent a good amount of my childhood and youth at the university library in my hometown (yes, I was that kid with the glasses sitting quitely at the corner of the library, or digging somewhere at the book shelves), since then I have moved to digital, and enjoy books from older times and newer times, nothing too popular, Albert Camus (The stranger) comes to mind, and things SciFi I personally steer away from as my taste in books is satisfied in reality and real-life scenarios.

Not to say imagination and fantasy are not cool, they are, yet I am personally closer to the potentials of things in reality as we know it.
