About Me
Software Engg, social worker, farmer, teacher. I grew up in Mumbai but I live a nomadic lifestyle traveling to remote villages of India to help with IT related stuff or teach. Other than that, I love to travel or get involved with farming
Our true wealth is what our senses experience. That stays with us forever and is unique to each one of us. I believe that travel is one of the ways we can gather these experiences - by ‘seeing’ new places, cultures and people, ‘tasting’ different delicacies, the wonderful ‘smell’ of the beaches, mountains or plains we visit, ‘listening’ to different languages, music and sounds. I’m out there just looking for another experience and learn in the process.
TRAVEL - I prefer staying in homestays or with CS hosts if I feel it would be a good experience for both of us. If not, I usually stay in hostels. I’m not out there for a free couch. Initially, I used to travel to tick off things from a list, to cover places, to be able to say “I’ve done this place”, but the longer I was on the road, I realized that we can never DO a place or see/experience everything about it, we can only hope to experience as much as possible. So I travel to BE. There’s a whole world out there, right outside your window, you’d be a fool to miss it.
ABOUT ME - I’m generally a quiet person until I get to know you :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Culture exchange, Volunteer with farming, visit natural spaces or ones away from a city, affordable travel
When I quit my job and started to really travel (earlier travels were just quick vacations), it changed a lot of prejudices and wrong notions I had about life and people. I now believe people are mostly good. If we’re positive, good things happen to us. A few travelers, now friends, introduced me to couchsurfing.
I’m generally a shy person, so was not so sure of using this forum, but thanks to the great first experiences I had that helped me overcome the fear - my first host who hosted me without a reference, and all the amazing people I met on hangouts. Couchsurfing is now an important part of my travel, though lately most of my travel to places where people haven’t heard of it.
I’m a curious person and like to learn something from every experience and person I come across, and Couchsurfing is an amazing medium to achieve this. Sharing my space when possible with people having varied interests is truly rewarding.
While I’m staying with someone, I’d like to interact with you (at least a little if you’re busy), if not, it’s just like living in a hotel.
