Originally from the centre of Germany, I moved up to the far north of the country in 2012 to study medicine.
In other words, I now permanently get to enjoy the proximity of the Baltic Sea with all of it's benefits and peculiarities, including the strong wind. ;)
At the moment, I am taking a semester off to explore some more off South America and to learn Portuguese.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my past travels, I have met so many awesome people who made me feel welcome in their home country. Though just having met, not few of them also invited me to stay with them, giving me some of the greatest experiences I could have possibly gained while traveling.
Staying with locals always expands your trip beyond of what you might find at hostels. Therefore, I'd like to give something back.
Besides, I think the concept of opening your doors to other travelers simply completes the whole idea of traveling. :)

Interests

The whole traveling thing already being mentioned, I always enjoy doing stuff outdoors, may it be longboarding, kitesurfing or just going for a run.
I also don't mind a good night out, some pub-crawling or clubbing.
Whatever it is, as long as it's together with friends, it's all good. ;)
Depending on the time I got, I like working on my languages too, although I usually postpone that to the next trip I am planning. ;P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My longest trip until now was in 2011, when I traveled for nine months through South and North America. Definitely one of the best choices I have made so far in my life.!
