About Me

Hey there strangers!

My name is Lena, I was born in Ukraine. Now I live in Israel.
Currently I'm a student at the university. I'm studying Linguistics.
It's the perfect thing for me, because of my curiosity about other cultures, languages and history.

Now that formalities are over, a little about WHO I am:

I’m an innocent dreamer, an optimistic believer, a sarcastic and cynic bad-ass. I’m full of contradictions that make me who I am. Two polarities ever revolving in an endless dance. I’m a poet, a hopeless romantic, I believe in fairy-tales but I know the world is far from being perfect. I am very straightforward and honest. I hate that people lie and hide behind masks. I tend to trust people and let them in, so please don’t use it against me :) I believe in love from first sight, and I don’t hold grudges, it’s unhealthy for the skin :P
I love people with a good sense of humor who can make me laugh. You know, laughing is good for the soul :)

I'm an atheist, but I believe there are no coincidences and everything that happens, happens for a reason.

I also believe in the "You reap what you sow" principle or "Karma" - everything you do will eventually catch up with you - so be good and do good to other people and creatures on Earth in order to receive good in return.

In my opinion music is the cure for all illnesses, for each and every feeling there is a suitable melody.

Books are my escape from this world. When I read a book I completely give myself over to my imagination and feelings and let them fill my body and mind. that is the best therapy ever!

There is great power in words, that’s why I collect quotes, and that’s why we must not misuse words. It’s better to remain silent than saying something you will regret.

MY INSPIRATION:

“As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down - probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, and no second chances. You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling to Austria in August, and I would like to meet new people there.
