Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best way to discover a country is to get into contact with locals. Such contacts are precious and give me inspiration. I don't want to be a tourist, I want to be a traveller and explorer. Couchsurfing is a pretty new thing for me, but I was happy to get an opportunity to know some very nice people - travellers and locals - thanks to it and I want to experience it more.

Interests

I like walking, strolling, hiking, exploring surroundings, interested in arts, history, architecture, cultures and traditions. I'm very curious about diversity of the world and love discovering it.
I am a linguist, translator and language teacher, so I can not imagine my life without foreign languages especially without German.
Admiring people who have enough courage to go out of beaten path.

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to listen to classical and alternative rock a lot, now I tend more to indie music, sometimes to ethnic motives, folk and jazz.
I prefer to watch festival movies. Akin, Linklater, Jarmush, Allen, Tornatore and much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Germany for almost a year, teaching Russian to teenagers and travelling.
Moving to Romania for three months for teaching German not knowing anything about that country before and falling in love with it.
