I work in film as a camera assistant.
I was born in Russia, lived few years in Mexico, Vancouver has been my home for the last almost 9 years, but I think of home as where my family and people I love are, more than a geographical location. My parents and older brother live close and we are tight.
I work in the film industry in camera department, I’m a 2nd camera assistant, no glamour there, but I do get to do the slate! 🎬

My introvert/extrovert sides depend on who I'm with, I think I adapt to people in order to have a balanced dialog.

Lately I've been very passionate about sustainability and having a zero waste life style and household, trying to participate more in transformative initiatives, paying more attention to politics and watching my own carbon footprint, so trying to only fly once a year or two years.

I love camping, swimming in lakes, oceans, rivers, hot springs, making camp fires and cooking on them! Spending time with my friends, connecting is very important to me. I love dancing!
When I'm home I love watching movies, I also like sowing and making candles and suncatchers. I like writing but it doesn't come as natural, as day dreaming haha. I think I have a good sense of humor, it gives me much pleasure making people laugh and I enjoy laughing so very much.

I love the concept, i think it has a great potential to help bringing humans closer together.
I hope to find out that I like staying with happy strangers while I travel and exchange knowledge and good vibes with them :)

Reggae, good old RNB, Queen, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, cafe tacuba, Manu Chau, Lila Downs, led zeppelin, Erth, Wind and Fire, some Jazz, cumbia, salsa, bachata, old Russian soundtracks....

Movies, well, it's a big list. I think of movies as friends, whom I visit and "revisit" to learn something new or just hang out, or to see if I've changed since last time I saw them...
I recently watched and absolutely loved Boyhood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It wasn’t my initiative but my family moved from Russia to Mexico City when I was 13 and lived there for 10 years! One amazing thing I did there was to learn how to dance Cumbia to Ángeles Azules band. 💃

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some Russian and Spanish, I think I'm a good driver and have great open face sandwich skills.

I'd love to learn to play volleyball, rock climbing, Italian and French. Oh I'm learning hula hoop! Love it!

I can teach how to roll beautiful bees wax candles, I always cary some sheets and wicks with me when I travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My positive attitude, kindness, and my time and ears when we hang out. I can get some groceries for your place while I stay there, do some cleaning or pay for your museum ticket if you come with me, buy you a beer or a coffee if we are out exploring together :) and I like to think that I’m a good listener and sometimes even story teller.
