About Me
— living in Vila do Bispo, Portugal till dec 21 and then traveling in surfing around there in a van —
Hello people! I'm Marlene, living actually in beautiful Berlin, but traveling here and then - as much as I can - around the world. I’m eager for everything I don’t know or I haven’t experienced. I’m very open minded, loving the fact that everyone is different and so interested in everything this world has to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While traveling, I prefer to get to know people, who actually live in the places I visit, so they can show me their world, their culture and their way of life, in return I like to share my own stories, cook for my hosts and if anyone wants it, teach a language.
Interests
I’m a city girl, yet I love being outside and nature gives me more energy than most things. I really discovered that I love cooking, as there is nothing more amazing than food. I always got a book somewhere close, although right now I’m reading less than normally - while traveling there is simply too much around me. I am highly interested in politics and talks about it. I love fotography with my Minox GT35 and I often go bouldering. I got into surfing in 2020 and I really love it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a huge reader, - right now my fav authors would be T.C Boyle, Paul Auster, Isabell Allende, Jane Austen
I’m a lot into techno when I go party, but I mostly listen to Indie Rock, Hispanic Music and a bunch of different interprets and songs I cant define
Movies: into the wild - kill bill vol.1&2- snatch - catch me if you can
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hike in the Andes close to Cusco for a week up till 5000m high without a guide or following a path, carrying all we need on our backs
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages are my passion, as I’m half Spanish - half German, we’ve always had more than one language at home - I love to learn languages, but I’m also very good at teaching them.
I love to listen to other people’s stories and share my own, not only about traveling, but also about their lives, opinions and experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Sharing stories, cooking delicious meals, having good times, learning languages, giving each other new inspiration and making friends around the world.
