About Me

Hi! My name is Lenna and even though I'm new to the couchsurfing platform, I HAVE couchsurfed before (and taken around the island couchsurfers that have stayed with a friend). Also, I have travelled extensively across Latin America and Europe.

SOME FACTS ABOUT ME:

- I love when people say "you can't or shouldn't do that". Watch me!
- I buy waaaay too many books
- I recently turned vegetarian (on december 2015)
- My favorite fruit are mangoes
- You can buy my love with coffee, food, books or poetry
- As a child, I hated playing with Barbies and would instead play Hotwheels or climb the tree at my backyard with my brother

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My main reason for joining CS was to continue making friends and learning from people from all around the world. Also, I want non-conventional tourists (like you, I hope!) to get to know the REAL Puerto Rico. You know, not the one where we're all primitive islanders who are lazy, exotic and drink piña colada.

Interests

- Latin American literature
- Solo travel
- Power yoga
- Long walks or bike rides by myself
- Meeting new people and cultures
- Deep conversations
- Practicing my Portuguese

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel like one of my personal achievements was to travel across Western Europe by myself. At the time I had just turned 20 and had never ever travelled alone before. This was an experience that changed my life for the better and helped me become the person that I am today, three years later.

I recommend EVERYONE to travel alone at least once in their lives. This experience will make you grow as a person, will throw you way out of you comfort zone and will help you find yourself, if you haven't yet!

Teach, Learn, Share

One of my favorite quotes (in Spanish):

"Nos pasamos la vida esperando, y no porque seamos dueños de nuestro tiempo, sino porque tenemos prisa... Nuestra espera se parece a una negación del presente. Ponemos los ojos en el futuro para DESPOSEERNOS DE LA REALIDAD. La prisa de la palabra "cuando" impide cualquier relación serena con el presente."
- Luis García Montero (Spanish poet)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I consider myself to be very considerate and kind. I can easily adapt to your schedule and will not mind if it's not possible for you to spend time with me (although I would like to do so). When I travel, I love making local friends, so I would like to get to know you and share life experiences, and maybe a beer or a cup of coffee with you!
