CURRENT MISSION

My husband and I live about 30 minutes from the steamboat resort near a state park with fishing, hiking and biking! We aim to get out every weekend to the slopes in the winter or the river in the summer.

ABOUT ME

So, about me, I live with my husband Matt in one of the coolest places ever, Colorado! I’m a behavior therapist and provide therapy to kids with autism. I have a masters degree in early childhood special education and I’m currelty working on my BCBA board certification.

Since I finished undergrad University (and earned a degree to be a teacher) I have lived in Zambia Africa and taught at a Chimpanzee sanctuary and built a school. I lived in Switzerland for a year and a half as a nanny and explored 14 countries and explored the Swiss Alps thoroughly!

ABOUT US
My husband and I live in rural Routt county ajcent to a state park. We love to show people around the world famous aspen tree skiing at steamboat, hiking, or Colorado river fishing. We cook, have a cat, and enjoy the peace and quiet of rural living in our cozy condo. Matt is a middle school science and math teacher and loves golf and fantasy sports.

We have had many domestic and international travels together. We camp and hike, raft and road trip. We’ve been to many national and state parks and visit the mid-west every summer to see Matt’s family in MI. We love jam-band and bluegrass music and Matt plays a little too.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had a great time cruising European couches. I met by best Euro buddy at a couch surfing event who I travel and surf with now. I love going to surfing events and hope to put on a few of my own now back in Colorado.

My hosting experience is limited but hoping to grow. We love to make new friends, share our experiences and show off where we live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It is AMAZING! I surfed in Budapest and saw the most interesting bars with my host! Vienna was lovely...had Christmas dinner with my host and her family! Krakow met other couch surfers and hit up great 1970's bars and cheap beers. New Years in a full flat of people from 6 countries in Florence! Snowboarded in Chur with one of the funniest guys in Switzerland! Sweet dorm parties and cheap shopping in Amsterdam. Crazy hats with Germans in Sierre Switzerland. Hot springs and castles with my hosts in Valencia. Beaches, sunsets, sunrises and adventure with many CSers in Sevilla. Madrid CS community craziness (food, drinks, bars, clubs) and multicultural meals.

Pretty much only good things about the entire thing! other than being hosted, I have met great people where I live through couch surfing too! I even met my best Euro buddy at a couch surfing event!

I love music...especially live music. Ben Harper, Coldplay, Dave Matthews band, Dashboard Confessional, Michael Franti, and of course classic rock: Doors, Stones, Dead, Hendrix. I love swapping new music with my hosts!

I love to read, mostly fluffy stuff that Opera recommends. Best books: Ishmael, Life of Pi, The Giver, Time Travelers Wife, My Sister's Keeper, Water for Elephants, Teady player one, Rosie Project, Man called ove...

Movies: 80's movies are great. Love romantic comedy and Will Farrell. Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, Back to the Future (all 3), Monty Python, M Night Shamalon movies, The Shawshank Redemption, Sleepless in Seattle, Pretty Woman, Spiderman and the list goes on...
