About Me
CURRENT MISSION
After coming home from Toulouse I hang out a bit everywhere in Germany when I don't work in Cologne :) Temporarily moved in to my parents place again before moving on (maybe to live in Berlin) in October!
ABOUT ME
I love music, being outside the house or having an inspirational conversation with friends and strangers. Also a lazy day and unproductivity can well be my thing once in a while (couldn't get there for months, though). I consider myself a rather calm, open-minded, friendly, curious and sometimes a bit thick guy. No matter how busy I am with work and studying, I always find the time to have inspiring conversations throughout the night or enjoy some raves around Cologne.
PHILOSOPHY
It's always worth being frank & open with people, an attitude which I maintained when travelling and which always worked out for me in the end as people come back to you the same way you approach them. I don't need people to share my views as long as one can properly communicate and reflect on whatever you think - in that case, I think it's more interesting to meet people who hold other attitudes toward things!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As guest: try to bring some of my travel-fun to your place! Normally, when you're on the road you carry this 'anything goes' attitude with you which easily moves over to other people who surround you. I like that and this is what I want to bring to my host. Also, of course, good vibes, inspiring talks, tricks to open beer bottles & mad dishes I claim to be able to cook!
As host: comfy warm sleeping place, social nights with friends coming over, lots of advice to see the town and music (we could mix some tunes!). I prefer the guest-host relation to be relaxed, not too much planned just hang out if possible (never know how busy you are!)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Back in the days I hosted two guys from Moscow in my room (when I still lived at my parents place!) which was great fun!
Then, in England, I hosted two girls once here, in Coventry, and in June 2015 I stayed with a cool guy in Edinburgh for a night - so far I'm totally amazed by the whole concept and how nicely it worked out for me. Makes me want more!
By the end of summer 2015 I hitchhiked the North of France and Bretagne coming from Nederlands and Belgium which turned out to be massive fun :) We even made it to a Festival in Brest and danced the night away at a party situated at an old castle! Throughout the trip we slept on couches (or "warm" kitchen floors, for Paris...) and had a really great time!
Interests
Considering myself a so-called 'bedroom-DJ', music is definitely one of my interestes! That's why you probably can find me at parties or record stores, always trying to find some new funky, groovy or just pounding techno beats. Besides discovering new music I also love to discover new cultures/people/ideas which is the main reason for me to participate in CS.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music? LOADS! Obviously, since I'm DJing I can spend AGES looking for new techno and house tunes, checking out some DJ-sets and podcasts and such - but in the same time I love to get more into organic-sounding stuff as psychadelic rock like Tame Impala, ambient stuff like Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada or classics like The Doors and more more more...always glad to get to know people who have a completely different taste of music to exchange some tunes!
For movies I'm not that picky although I'm not the biggest fan of horror and 'flat' action-hollywood movies. Nevertheless, I love watching movies of many different sorts; overall I'm probably a fan of movies with depth :)
Books - I'm reading loads of philosophy due to my studies which limits me in reading just for fun but if I find the time I enjoy books by Nick Hornby or Michel Houellebecq. Right now I'm trying to get more into classics of literature :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year I've been hitchhiking with my soon-to-be girlfriend from Normandie to Bretagne and all the way back to Paris over Le Mans and finally ending in Brussels. That was an amazing trip to me :) Especially one bit: we got stuck Morlaix right before Brest where we were supposed to meet a friend and go to a techno-festival in front of a massive chateau (we already had our tickets) - well a confused grandma dropped us off somewhere on the highway before Morlaix, so we walked all the way into town and felt pretty down like *we never gonna make it :'( *. and BAM 2 girls stopped for us on our way to town and asked where we were headed: "To the Festival??? Our friends are going too!" So we hopped in and they dropped us of at their friends who were right about to get off for Brest. They were all like *YEA get in :D*. Dropped us off in Brest in time and we had a super nice festival at the castle :) defo a night to remember.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, my studies aim at being a teacher in English & Philosophy - soI hopefully could teach you some of that :D Then I could tell loads about electronic music and how to mix it using CDs & vinyl. Can also play a bit of guitar or "flowersticks" (juggling). I guess I also could teach some German language or how to have a nice vegetarian bbq!
What I Can Share with Hosts
An easy going guest who does not have any specific plan on his mind and therefore is open-minded for new things :) in other words: fun, mostly!
