Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to Couchsurfing - some of my fellow students have been using it for quite a while and introduced me to weekly meetings of the local community, so I hope to experience personally the value of Couchsurfing soon!

Interests

Voluntary work can give me great satisfaction, e.g. in my freetime I give young immigrants private tuition so that they can get on in their new environment.
Also, I love playing music (piano and trumpet) and the feeling of playing together with other people in a band or an orchestra is just incredible!
Travelling across other countries, discovering new places and getting to know new people is a perfect holiday activity I pursue whenever I have the opportunity.
I also enjoy playing tennis, football, swimming and cycling.
However, I'm studying football magazines and accompany my favourite team (Hannover 96) as often as I can: may it be at home or at one of the beautiful stadiums all over Germany and Europe! The moments of a riveting match with your team scoring the decisive goal for the victory in the additional time followed by sheer happiness together with people you even haven't known before, are just irreplaceable...
Other interests include meteorology, linguistics, aviation or political (realise successful integration, environmentally friendly economy) and geographical issues (topography, urban development...).

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy jazz, blues and swing music - timeless and great to play on an instrument! Of course, modern (chart) music also appeals to me, but not necessarily "mainstream" music - rather those who include interesting musical harmonies/elements/instruments, e.g. Paolo Nutini, Elton John, The Kooks, Wouter Hamel...
