Overview
About Me
I'm an East Frisian journalist who works for a small Danisch/German newspaper in Flensburg, just south of the Danish border.
I love music and spend most of the money I have left after traveling on concerts and vinyl.
You can check out some of my travel stories on my blog "Der Ruf der Aale". It's in German, though ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Bruce Springsteen was my first love and I still prefer old school, handmade music like Springsteen, Tom Petty, George Harrison or B.B King to newer stuff, but am pretty much open for anything.
It also depends on my mood. Since my last journey to Jamaica in spring, for example, I really dig all those great Jamaican reggae and dancehall artists like Damian Marley, Peter Tosh and Tanya Stephens.
Books: Beneath the Wheel and Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse are, hands down, some of the best novels there are. Touching and just beautifully written.
The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson is an alcohol soaked journey through 60s Puerto Rico by a young Hunter Thompson. Gonzo gold.
Teach, Learn, Share
There is no better way to explore the world, than with a local by your side. Couchsurfing for me is always about sharing. Not just your home, but your knowledge, your experiences and your stories as well.
As a host, I'm always glad to show you around my home of choice, Flensburg, with all its hidden gems. And bars, of cause.
