I love being immersed in different cultures and seeing a place through the eyes of the locals. Being a tourist just doesn't cut it for me anymore.. I want to learn the local phrases you can't really translate (including the swear words), go where the locals go and understand their cultures, language and mannerisms through osmosis. As people get older it's easier for their world to shrink, but I want to expand mine and make lasting friends through my travels and hope I can add value to their lives. I think I have a lot to share in terms of my perspective and stories.. and I'll get the rounds in at the pub.
