About Me
I'm currently taking a gap year after university before I start a job in 2017. I studied philosophy politics and economics at Oxford and after saving some money for a few months am on a 6/7 month trip.
I started off bumming around Europe before spending a month in Cuba and am now working my way from Toronto to California via the southern United States.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love getting to know cities from a local's perspective- finding out what it's like to live somewhere rather than just passing through. It's always great to meet someone with a similar mentality who can give a bit more access to the local's perspective. Plus, it's always handy to save a little money compared to a hostel.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy 20th century American literature at the moment- recently read and loved the Easter parade by Yates. Terry pratchet will always hold a special place for me.
I listen and watch to just about anything- generally from recommendations other people give me. Currently listening to equal parts Bruce Springsteen and London grammar.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling Cuba primarily in the back of trucks was pretty mad. Can't recommend it enough
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't have a huge number of hard skills but am always keen to learn and share ideas by discussion. Politics and philosophy are particular topics I've spent a lot of time on
What I Can Share with Hosts
A few good stories and a Brit abroad's perspective on the states generally go down well. I can make a mean English breakfast as well
