Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to make friends and share experiences.
Interests
I am into Chess, Reading, and Zen.
I've played chess since I was very young. I find that we can make friends and understand each other by playing chess. Actually, thanks to chess I know some of my friends now. Chess is like a language, and I have the chance to get to know people speaking the same language as me. I also know a little bit about Go (Japanese board game), Xiangqui (Chinese chess). (The more "languages" I know, the more I could talk to my friends :) ). However, now I do not play chess often.
I love reading and I read a lot. Books always bring me to new horizons. I am a speed reader in Vietnamese (but my reading speed in English is just average and I can hardly read Japanese, although I am studying Japanese very hard.) Another thing, I am quite easy to cry when I read fiction.
I have a lot of questions about the world, the meaning of life, and about my own thoughts and feelings. I believe that through meditation I could understand such things profoundly and in Vietnam I practiced for a while. Now that I am in Japan, I want to know about zazen and practice it.
I also think that it would be nice to be able to play an instrument, cook nice meals, or take photos professionally, but I have little experience with those things. I'd like to learn such things some day.
