About Me

I am a geek all around.
I love consumer tech from smartphones to hard drives. I am the one people come to, when "something is wrong" with their laptop.
I am also a Social Entrepreneur, building AIDEN.
Aiden, check it our at myaiden.com, is a platform for refugees to offer their help to customers in everyday situations. Whatever the service might be, from running errands to walking dogs, we make sure the payment is done in a legally sound manner and everybody is insured (a very German thing).
We also make sure, that our refugees get paid above minimum wage.

Because of AIDEN, I moved to Berlin in April 2017 to help it grow.
We are operating out of Migration Hub, a wonderful co-working space with founders from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like couchsurfing, because I think that it is easier to experience a culture, if you are staying with locals.
I have hosted travelers, before, but was unaware of this platform until now. Facebookgroups, have worked for me until now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
This one is a little complex and paradox.
I sometimes like to listen to Minimal Techno (very Berlin), but I also love Metalcore and I am a big Eminem-Fan.

Movies:
The last Movie, that had me blown away was Interstellar. I loved almost everything about it.
I also love the tone and groove of Micheal Mann movies. Not all of them, but he conveys a certain style, I find appealing.
Star Wars is also a must. I watch all movies at least once a year.

Books:
I do not read many exiting books.
Right now, I have a statistics book, that is recommended for my masters program next to my bed. I can tell you, this stuff makes finding sleep really easy.
I loved the Harry Potter series and Demon from Matthew Delaney.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a pretty unfortunate accident in 2010 and doctors were not certain, that I would be able to walk normally, not to say even to run and do sports.
I was largely tied to a wheelchair for 6 months, but I trained my muscles every day anf with some professional help, I can walk, jump, run just fine. Prolonged walks are still a problem, but I consider it my biggest win in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Be open to learn, I guess?!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very happy to engage with any host and talk with them about pretty much anything. I have also had hosts that would rather not talk and that is fine, too.

In any case, every host is not safe from a "typically german" present, that I will bring.
Depending on where I go, I can even bring some German food and cook (not the US, unfortunately, since the homeland security is very strict, when it comes to food).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Brazil, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
