About Me

I'm a curious guy. I am interested in almost everything, especially in the international field.

I am recently-graduated physician. I also teach Family and Community Medicine at the School of Medicine. Luckily I have many friends, and love hanging out with them. I also enjoy reading novels (Fantasy is my favourite genre), learning languages, listening to music (almost every kind), walking, eating, drinking, sleeping...

Some people may say I'm a bit nerdish, and they might be right. However, it is hard to imagine I shall not follow if we are up for some drinks or a night-walk.
Others could say I'm an over-thinker, and maybe those are right too, but I'm always eager to discover new things and explore new worlds

Truth is that there's no place in the world I would not like to know about. There is no corner where there's nothing worth discovering.

PHILOSOPHY

A key point I think I've just started to discover is the importance of experiences. You may buy things, you may take pictures, but nothing will have a greater impact on you than the things you've lived. Those no one will ever be able to take from you. They will mould your personality, make you grow as a person, and will bring back a smile when recalled.

Of course you can enjoy reaching other goals, and they are important as well, but if I am to invest on something, I would try exploring new horizons!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is a wonderful opportunity to know other realities. You may read about them, you could even visit those places, but you won't get the most of it unless you have the chance of talking to the locals and try to understand their points of view.

Also by explaining stuff about your country and culture to other people you get a better and deeper understanding of what you have at home, which is a wonderful way of rediscovering it.

Interests

I love languages. If I could, I would learn every single language in the world, but for now it's enough to learn a few new words from each one!

I do like reading. Even at the busiest periods, I'm always into some book.
I also like watching series and movies, but I am not tooo much into it.

Even though I have not travelled as much as I'd like (yet), I enjoy learning new things. I'm the kind of guy that likes remembering interesting details and finding value within the little things. It makes the whole experience somehow more intense.

For example, do you know that in Cuba when you get to a crowded office you are supposed to ask aloud "Who's the last?" and keep track of that person until his/her turn arrives, for that's how you know you are next?

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite books are Fantasy Novels. At the podium I have George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire saga, and Tolkien's books (Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion). Harry Potter will always have a special place within me too.
Other genres include crime and mystery novels, tragedies, historical fantasies, Science fiction, and more.

About music, I have a wide preference. I love classical music, and choral pieces and opera in particular. I like some rock bands, being Symphonic Metal and Visual Kei my favourite rock genres.
Other kinds of music I like are House, Reggae, Ballads, Pop and Electro-pop

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've invested at least one hour every single day of my stay in Cuba, to speak with Cuban people. I've done a lot of things there, but nothing compares to that. I've learnt a lot.

I wish I had the time to do the same in other destinations. Hopefully I will in the future.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Definitely a drink! And ,a nice chat for sure! Partying, walking, eating out are also included. But do not count me in for sports: I suck.

I enjoy the national celebrations and visiting different places of my country, so I could tell/show you some things about this little southern country.

I will also be ready to hear whatever you can tell me about your land, so you'll find a good listener in me too!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In

Uruguay
