Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION:
Travel through Europe to make new friends and discover avenues for a career in woodworking. I'm also interested in getting to know cities with people who live and love them.
ABOUT ME
I was born in Omaha, Nebraska USA in 1987 and graduated high school in 2006. Afterwards I went to the University of Nebraska for 2 years to learn that I wasn't a very good student. Seeking discipline and direction in life I joined the United States Navy and worked as a jet engine mechanic aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise for four years. After that I moved to Boulder, Colorado and enrolled in the University of Colorado as an art student. I graduated in Spring 2016 with a major in Studio Arts focusing in woodworking and a minor in Art History.
Now I want to travel and meet people and also to find a direction in which to steer my career in woodworking.
PHILOSOPHY
Use the right tool for the job. Be the right person for the job. Don't lie if you don't know the answer, just figure it out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed twice in my journey from the east coast to Colorado. Once in south Mississippi and once in Memphis, TN.
I hope to host one day but my last two apartments have been shared spaces with little room for guests. In the future I hope I can provide a space for Couchsurfers because I really like meeting people and learning from others' adventures.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Interests
I enjoy mountain biking, road cycling, snowboarding, playing Frisbee, and cooking. I'm a woodworker and I like to fix things and find creative solutions for reusing broken objects. I like going on long bike rides around the city and in the country and getting myself lost so I have to figure out how to get home. It's kind of a game I play when traveling as well, getting lost and having to learn the streets to get home. I think using a GPS is cheating and only a last resort option. Maps and compasses only man!
I like living in Boulder, Colorado because the mountains are right in the backyard where I can go hike around and find beautiful places to have picnics.
