I always find it hard to "describe" myself. I obviously love to travel and get to know people from all over the world. I never was a tourist guy and always believed in you get to know way more about a foreign country if you stay and speak with local people then in a hotel or a bus tour. I did lots of voluntary work in school and besides my studies in university. The best was my work on a youth camp side next to a former german concentration camp called Flossenbürg. Teenagers from all former invaded countries came together with german teenagers and survivors of the camps to talk about that time and building up new friendships not depending on borders. I got to know people form belgium, france, england, israel and ukraine, many of which remain close friends till this day. I visited Israel and had the opportunity to live in muslim villages far out the tourist reach. Therefore I truly believe in that local pubs, parties, dinners and personal talks are more important then site seeing. At least to me.

My biggest hobby and passion at the moment is Scotland and whisky and I plan a longer trip to that beautiful country. I have some knowledge and experience to share with whisky but I´m curious about everything else. I´m a passionate music lover and have been part of many different subcultures as rap, punk, metal, goth and lately relaxed electronic music. I consider myselfe a bit of a geek, cause everything I do, I do with passion.

I think I am an uncomplicated guest (at least I hope :) and am grateful to anybody that is willing to share some space and time with me. I´m very good on my own as well! I need quiet time now and then anyway, so no need to "entertain" me all the time :). I love to walk new unknown areas alone, so I´m flexible if I have company or not. We say in Germany "anything goes, nothing must".

Have a great collection of movies... love movies! Such as most movies with Jeff Bridges (K-Pax, Big Lebowski), Lord Of The Rings, Batman movies, Watchmen, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Into The Wild, The Guard, Jim Jarmusch movies, Simon Pegg movies... So many :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I´ve cut my hair... (yeah for me that was amazing! :)
I´ve stayed in an arab village in Israel, no tourists would ever visit.
I´ve scuba dived in Egypt (for that was totally amazing!)
I lost my heart in Scotland... So I´m willing to go back and find it!

I can teach marital arts, self defense techniques (a bit should be left form my 12 years of training but its going away), I share and love to learn about whisky, I love to share my knowledge about that as well :).
I learn spanish now and then ^^.
