Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Doing Couchsurfing has been something I want to do for a long time. I really enjoy meeting new people, sharing cultural backgrounds while having great conversations. It is also a decent way to really explore the city locally at a low cost. (Gotta admit that, ha)

My life was forever changed after watching "The Holstee Manifesto" video. Life is about people and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating. Couchsurfing perfectly meets my needs in this case.

Interests

Basically, my interests fall between outdoor activities and interaction with people

Activities like tennis, basketball ,scuba diving, mountain climbing... (I wanna try skiiing!)

Interaction such as doing exchange in France, volunteering, language exchange

My research interests lie in the social and linguistic aspect of recommender systems.

As to movies, "Manchester by the Sea" has got to be the most infectious one with smooth, undramatic scenes attached to our usual life, simply impressive with every details taken care.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decided to apply for another year of graduate school and finally made it to UCSD!
Decided to look for a job in the states and finally made it to Yahoo in Sunnyvale, Bay area!

Teach, Learn, Share

If there's still any info. I could provide, I would like to share my personal experience as a volunteer of an English teaching program in Chao Zhou, China.

These two weeks that I stayed in Chao Zhou was quite amazing. I taught two classes filled with 60 seventh-graders daily. It was the moment when I realize that I am Inspired by the wonderful bonds formed around people, and decided to be different thereafter.
